Kazutoshi Mizuno Discusses the 2013 GT-R Model
To coincide with the launch of the 2013 Nissan GT-R, Toshifumi Watanabe interviews "Mr. GT-R" himself, Kazutoshi Mizuno. Five years since its debut, how has the "Japanese craftsmanship" that Mr. Mizuno has consistently advocated been reflected? Furthermore, with the environment surrounding cars and societal needs rapidly changing, and new technologies being introduced one after another, where is the GT-R headed?

Multi-Performance
From its launch, Mr. Mizuno has stated that the GT-R is not merely a supercar pursuing speed, but a "multi-performance supercar" that can be used for various purposes. In fact, he says that owners report on its multi-performance capabilities exceeding his expectations.
80% Complete
Mr. Mizuno emphasizes that the GT-R should be a global technology trendsetter. This doesn't mean updating Nürburgring lap times, but rather in its packaging design, which anticipates the future far ahead. What is the future vision for the GT-R?
Being the "GT-R"
The GT-R has its own set of rules for being a GT-R, and while adhering to them, it must continue to present the ideal form of a car as a trendsetter. For this purpose, there is a grand roadmap, and it is still in progress.
Reason and Instinct
Mr. Mizuno believes that a state of having no rivals to compare with is important, and that is the proof of being a global leader. He also says that one cannot evoke emotion while resting on comparisons.
