Under the slogan of "Always On," Lexus's flagship model, the "LS," received a minor change in November 2020. Motor journalist Fumio Ogawa took it for a spin to ascertain the extent of its evolution.

A Drive That Puts You in a Sharp, Well-Tailored Mood
The Lexus LS, befitting its position as Lexus's flagship, is a supremely comfortable premium sedan. One might compare it to a sharp, well-tailored suit made from the finest wool. It puts you in a crisp, refined mood.
I recall a time when men seriously considered what to wear when driving. A suit, for instance, for a date. The car of choice was also a sedan. In today's era, where casual SUVs are commonplace, this might seem overly formal. Yet, sitting in the driver's seat of the Lexus LS, one can appreciate that an orthodox style can be quite fitting at times.
The Lexus LS is a magnificent sedan, measuring over 5.2 meters in length, exuding a distinct presence. Its European rivals include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8. However, the current LS is characterized not just by its size, but by a sleek, flowing body design that masterfully utilizes its length.
The current LS debuted in October 2017. A minor change was implemented on November 19, 2020. The previous year also saw a minor change, which significantly improved its ride quality.
The most luxurious trim for the LS is the "Executive," designed for those who desire ample rear-seat space. For those who prefer a comfort-oriented sedan with generous dimensions, there is the "Version L." The "F Sport" model offers a sportier configuration, featuring larger diameter wheels, different sizes front and rear, dedicated dampers, and unique shift control, all meticulously refined.
