Incidentally, one striking aspect of Ms. Dickson's conversation was the frequent use of the word "kaizen" (improvement). When asked why, she shared an interesting anecdote.

"My father worked in the automotive industry, so I was exposed to this word, originating from the Japanese automotive industry, from a young age. I believe that even in the most mature markets, there is always room for improvement. For example, while Japan and Taiwan are strong markets, there are undoubtedly further possibilities hidden within them. Constantly pursuing improvement and seeking better solutions – that is my belief."

Ms. Dickson's decision to join a luxury car brand after graduating from university was also significantly influenced by her father.

"My father was in the automotive industry, so I had many opportunities to encounter discussions about cars from childhood. When I graduated from university, my father advised me that 'career advancement for women is difficult in the automotive industry.' However, because I prefer challenging environments, I decided to take on the challenge. What's wonderful about McLaren is that, like myself, women are appointed to important positions, whether as engineers or in global marketing. I believe this helps build a brand image that is approachable to women, despite being a supercar brand."

Ms. Dickson, who also loves luxury brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, states that McLaren's combination of high performance and luxury is a significant motivator for her work. She describes the appeal of McLaren with the phrase "Try it."

"It's not that seeing is believing, but experiencing it firsthand is most important. This is because you can feel an excitement that cannot be obtained from other brands, where elements like response, design, technology, and engine sound all come together."
