Shido“In contrast, the M550i is an ambitious car. It offers sporty driving while also providing the refined ride of a premium four-door sedan. When you switch to Sport mode, it instantly becomes a sports car. If you seek performance, it seems to respond endlessly. When you don’t want sporty driving in the city, you can choose Comfort mode, and your family won’t complain. If you want sportiness when you’re alone but a quiet ride with family, the M550i is perfect. The choice between the M5 and M550i really depends on one’s preferences and lifestyle.”
Yagi“I usually drive on circuits, and while driving the M5, scenes like the exit of Degner curve and the entry into 130R at Suzuka Circuit came to mind. I could imagine the suspension and balance that would allow me to accelerate through those high-speed corners not with fear, but with exhilaration, so I really want to try it.”
Shido“Compared to the M5, the M550i certainly has a gentler ride. Previously, if you wanted both sportiness and refinement in a car, you’d need two vehicles. But this car brilliantly fulfills the roles of two, meeting the demands of the ambitious user. It’s great for relaxed family outings and also for sporty solo drives. I want the M550i.”
Yagi“Driving the M550i, I was impressed by its composure. It felt like it had more to give, but not to the absolute limit; the sense of depth and the smooth integration into the urban landscape were what resonated most with me. It’s like saying, ‘I can go faster, but it’s also pleasant to go slow.’ That ability to set your own rhythm is what I felt from the M550i’s balance.”
