This special feature highlights noteworthy car-loving creators spending a day with the latest Cadillac. This time, interior stylist Katsunori Kubokawa and his wife, travel journalist/editor Hisako Iijima, drove the American luxury sedan "CT5" to Kubokawa's favorite spot.

A Couple of Diverse Creators

"My wife and I understand each other's work, but our respective fields and worlds are completely unknown to one another. My specialty is interiors, so I'm often indoors, but her job as a travel journalist takes her to the depths of jungles, or rather, away from civilization."
They enjoyed the sporty performance of the CT5 on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway.
Katsunori Kubokawa is a highly sought-after interior stylist, frequently featured in magazine and TV features on interiors, and also designs showroom and window displays for condominiums. His wife, Hisako Iijima, is an editor who works on credit card member magazines and event production. Leveraging her extensive experience in travel and culture journalism, she is also involved in regional revitalization projects.
"People often say we both have strong preferences and unique personalities, but we just have different tastes, and I don't mind being encouraged to step outside my own shell. We're a 'diverse couple,' so to speak."
On this day, they drove the Cadillac's American luxury sedan, the "CT5," to "CASICA" in Shinkiba, a place Kubokawa occasionally visits.
The couple, both car enthusiasts, use an old SUV and an old sports car as their daily drivers.
CASICA is a multi-purpose space renovated from a former warehouse. In addition to an interior shop selling furniture, rugs, and miscellaneous goods, it features a curated selection of greenery in collaboration with a florist, a gallery with regularly changing exhibitions, and a cafe serving healthy lunches.
"This area has many studios for interior photography, so I often stop by this interesting shop on my way home from work. It's our first time visiting together on a private day, though."
