Hybrid with EV Mode Priority
The "Panamera Sport Turismo" employs an evolved parallel hybrid system, similar to the current "Panamera S Hybrid" and "Cayenne S Hybrid". However, it incorporates a new motor generating approximately double the output of previous models at 70kW (95ps) and a high-output lithium-ion battery. In conjunction with a 3-liter V6 engine with a supercharger producing 245kW (333ps), the total output reaches 306kW (416ps).
While boasting performance figures like 0-100km/h acceleration in under 6 seconds, it also excels in environmental performance, with a combined fuel economy of less than 3.5L/100km (approximately 28.6km/L) and CO2 emissions below 82g/km in the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) composite mode.
Under normal driving conditions, the system prioritizes the "EV mode," running solely on the electric motor, which allows for speeds of up to approximately 130km/h and a range of over 30km. Furthermore, drivers can select hybrid driving modes or charging modes via buttons on the steering wheel, enabling intelligent energy management based on driver intent, such as "charging during high-speed driving and then running in EV mode within the city."
The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery, housed beneath the luggage compartment floor, has a capacity of 9.4kWh. Charging time is approximately 2.5 hours or less, and it is compatible with standard European household AC power outlets. The system can also connect with smartphones to calculate estimated charging times and set charging timers, as well as activate the air conditioning using the connected household power source to pre-condition the cabin temperature.
The "Panamera Sport Turismo," with its body dimensions of 4,950mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and 1,401mm in height, incorporates a variety of ideas as a concept model, not only in its powertrain but also in its interior and exterior design.
The front features large air intakes, and on either side, "C-blades"—indicator and positioning light units arranged in a U-shape—along with four-LED headlights replacing the traditional round ones, contribute to an overall taut impression.
At the rear, the hatch door, which is currently tapered to avoid the taillights, now spans the width of the LED taillights, allowing for a wider opening. The design connecting the left and right lamps with a horizontal line reflects Porsche's traditional design language, similar to the "911 Carrera 4" which also made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show.
The adaptive rear spoiler, equipped at the end of the roof to improve downforce, is made of carbon. There are no door mirrors on the body sides; instead, images from cameras integrated into the air outlets are displayed in the cockpit.
Inside, a large TFT center color display replaces the traditional meters, showing vehicle information such as the speedometer, tachometer, the aforementioned door mirror display, navigation, and the hybrid system's integrated output status. The center console features a pop-up touch display, allowing for intuitive control of all functions, including air conditioning, lighting, and seat adjustments.
At this Paris Motor Show, in addition to the "Panamera Sport Turismo," Porsche willworld premiere the "911 Carrera 4," "911 Carrera 4S," "911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet," and "911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet."
