Special Audio System Exclusive to the CLS-Class

The "CLS Sound Suite" is the second collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Japan and Sonic Design, following the CL550 Sound Suite announced in December 2009. It features a complete car audio system specially designed by Sonic Design, taking into account the CLS-Class's body shape and interior acoustics.

This audio system comprises a specially designed digital processor amplifier that achieves a high level of sound quality, compact size, light weight, and low power consumption. It also includes front door full-range driver modules with integrated aluminum die-cast enclosures and additional woofer modules for the rear doors, consisting of 4 units and 6 speakers in total.

Furthermore, by employing Sonic Design's proprietary SonoRevive technology, which extracts the analog audio output from the genuine audio system with minimal sound quality degradation and high precision, it is said to achieve the best sound quality for all audio and visual sources without compromising the operability of the factory-installed audio and COMAND systems.

The "CLS Sound Suite" is available in three models: the CLS350 Grand Edition priced at 11.15 million yen, the CLS550 at 12.62 million yen, and the CLS 63 AMG at 17.09 million yen, with a total of 10 units limited across these models.

BRAND HISTORY
When tracing the history of automobiles, we arrive at two German pioneers: Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. It is by now common knowledge that these two men independently created gasoline-powered automobiles between 1885 and 1886, laying the foundation for the automotive society. Their respective car companies were at times seen as rivals, but to overcome the post-World War I recession, they joined forces, and the Daimler-Benz company was established through their merger in 1926.

The name "Mercedes," given to products, originated when Emil Jellinek, a Daimler customer, had the name of his eldest daughter assigned to the vehicles in exchange for taking over sales outside of Germany. It was registered as a trademark by Daimler in 1902.
