"Ferrari Festival Japan 2009" is a circuit event held by Ferrari Japan as part of its activities to further improve customer satisfaction. While the first day was exclusively for members of the Ferrari Club of Japan, the second day was open to all Ferrari owners and other participants who could watch from the main stands, making the venue a great success. Approximately 550 Ferraris, from special models like the F40, produced in a limited edition to commemorate Ferrari's 40th anniversary, to the latest models including the 430 Scuderia, filled the parking lot behind the paddock, with over 1,000 visitors.
A Full Program to Enjoy Driving Pleasure
The second day's event began with a ceremony featuring a speech by Marco Mattiacci, President & CEO of Ferrari Japan. On the main course, various driving programs were held to fully enjoy the driving pleasure that Ferrari cars offer, including an exhibition race by Ferraris titled "Ferrari Trophy," circuit driving with a pace car, family driving sessions where companions could ride along, and demonstration runs of the circuit-only car "Ferrari FXX," limited to 29 units worldwide, and F1 cars.
Current and Japan-Debut Models on Display
The exhibition area showcased current models all together. Among them, the"Ferrari California", which began delivery in Japan this summer, attracted attention and was bustling with people. Also, the"599XX"and the 599 "Handling GT Evoluzione Package," announced at the recent Geneva Motor Show 2009, made their Japan debut.
Classic Ferraris Also Gathered!
Furthermore, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Ferrari Club of Japan, a display and special driving session of classic Ferraris brought by owners were also held. From the 275GTB/2 to the Daytona and 512BB, valuable cars manufactured before 1980, irresistible to those of the supercar generation, were gathered.
Additionally, to ensure that accompanying family members could also enjoy themselves, a "RC Car Park," "Ferrari Store," and "Cafe Corner" were set up. In the "Relaxation Room," nail services were offered to female guests, making it a truly enjoyable event.
Blessed with clear skies, the "Ferrari Festival Japan 2009" resonated with the distinctive high-pitched exhaust notes of Ferraris throughout the day.
BRAND HISTORY
Many fans are thrilled by the emblem known as "Cavallino Rampante," or the "Prancing Horse" in Japan. A car that excites crowds with its fierce performance on the circuit and captivates people with its elegant silhouette and sharp sound on the street – that is FERRARI. Whether in F1 or in its road cars, this brand, which pursues the pinnacle of speed, embodies the passion of its founder, Enzo Ferrari.
Born in Modena, Italy, in 1898, Enzo was inspired by a race he witnessed in Bologna at the age of ten, and from then on, he aspired to become a racing driver. His unwavering ambition steadily moved towards realization, and in 1920, Enzo finally became a test driver for Alfa Romeo. In the same year, he competed as an Alfa driver in the Targa Florio, achieving an impressive second place.
However, Enzo's interest eventually shifted towards managing a racing team, leading him to establish Scuderia Ferrari in 1929 and take over Alfa's racing activities. Despite his demonstrated prowess, his relationship with Alfa ended in 1939. After World War II, in 1947, he resumed racing activities with his own "Ferrari 125," equipped with a V12 engine. This marked the beginning of Ferrari's journey as a sports car brand.
Subsequently, Ferrari came under the umbrella of Fiat. Currently, under the leadership of President Luca Montezemolo, who also serves as the chairman of the Fiat Group, the brand continues to enhance its allure. The lineup consists of five models: the "599" and "612 Scaglietti" with V12 engines, the mid-ship V8 sports cars "F430" and "F430 Spider," and the "430 Scuderia," which epitomizes sportiness.<.p>
