The World's Most Successful 12-Cylinder Luxury Saloon

Debuting in 2005 as a derivative of the "Continental GT," the first model from the revitalized Bentley under Volkswagen's ownership,
the Continental Flying Spur was a testament to the prestigious brand's heritage. Its opulent presence, combined with the high quality of craftsmanship evident throughout the interior and exterior, and the cutting-edge engineering from the Volkswagen Group, made it a favorite among affluent customers in Europe and North America. It played a significant role in Bentley's resurgence, establishing itself as the world's most successful 12-cylinder luxury saloon.

The 2009 model year sees a cosmetic refresh, including redesigned front grilles and air intakes. Furthermore, it incorporates an advanced Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system, utilizing radar technology to detect traffic flow ahead and regulate acceleration and braking to maintain a set following distance. These modifications enhance the luxury saloon's overall refinement and completeness.

A High-Performance Version Carrying on a Storied Legacy

The most significant addition to the 2009 model lineup is the high-performance Continental Flying Spur Speed. The "Speed" series, familiar from the coupe variant, the Continental GT, traces its lineage back to a legendary model first introduced in 1923. Powered by a 6-liter W12 twin-turbo engine producing an impressive 610 ps – 50 ps more than the standard model – it achieves a remarkable 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 322 km/h. The suspension has been refined, with a 10mm lower ride height, and the steering has been precisely tuned for agile yet sophisticated handling. This performance truly befits the description of the fastest luxury saloon.

The exterior subtly hints at its potent performance with a dark-tinted chrome front grille, large-diameter sports exhaust tailpipes with a spiral finish, and exclusive 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, all contributing to the dynamic expression characteristic of the "Speed" series.

True to its status as a top-tier luxury saloon, comfort has not been overlooked. While already lauded for its class-leading comfort, the 2009 models of both the Continental Flying Spur and its Speed variant further reduce cabin noise through the use of acoustic glass and a three-layer body undertray. Additionally, an optional audio system developed by Naim Audio, the renowned British Hi-Fi manufacturer, for Bentley is available. This system features a 1025W amplifier – the most powerful in a production car – and 14 custom-designed Naim speakers, promising an unparalleled acoustic experience.

The "Continental Flying Spur" and "Continental Flying Spur Speed" represent a comprehensive evolution for the luxury saloon, enhancing both driving dynamics and comfort. The price for the former is 22.3 million yen, and for the latter, 25.3 million yen. Reservations are currently being accepted, with deliveries scheduled for next spring.
