Rare Limited Editions for Porsche Boxster S & Cayman S
PorschePorsche Japan began accepting orders for the limited edition "Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2" and "Cayman S Sport" on August 5, 2008. Each is a rare model, with only 10 units allocated to Japan.
The White Boxster S
The "Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2" and "Cayman S Sport" feature a 3.4-liter engine, the same displacement as the previous models, but with an increased maximum output of 303 ps, an 8 ps improvement. These models are distinguished by their exclusive equipment.
The Boxster S is characterized by its Carrara White body, with the standard 19-inch Sport Design wheels with star-spoke design, side air intakes, center console, and triple round gauges also finished in white. Sporty grey stripes adorn the sides.
While predominantly white, the standard colors for the roof and leather parts are Stone Grey and Black, lending the overall aesthetic a classic ambiance.
This limited edition comes with an original watch, the "Porsche Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 Chronograph," featuring white rev counters and speedometers as its motif. It aims to appeal to men's dual passions for watches and sports cars.
Special equipment for the Japanese specification models includes seat heating, bi-xenon headlamps, the Sport Chrono Package, and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system.
Out of a global limited production of 500 units, only 10 will be available in Japan. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission and left or right-hand steering. The price is 10.56 million yen, which is 3.05 million yen higher than the base model.
Cayman S Sport: A 911 GT3-Like Presence
The "Cayman S Sport" offers Orange and Green as standard body colors, also available for the "911 GT3," exuding a premium, high-performance aura.
Additional or optional body colors include Black, Guards Red, Speed Yellow, Carrara White, and Arctic Silver Metallic. The model name is featured in a designed logo on the sides.
Similar to the 911 GT3, black rims, door mirrors, and air intake grilles create a striking color contrast. Combined with the black interior design package and a dashboard without a tachometer hood, this further enhances the sporty character.
Standard equipment includes the 303 ps boxer engine, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system that lowers the ride height by 10mm, 19-inch Sport Design wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, the Sport Chrono package, and sports seats. The Japanese model also features an alarm system with interior sensors and LED taillights as special equipment.
With a global limited production of 700 units, only 10 units will make their way to Japan. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission and left or right-hand steering. The price is 9.94 million yen, 1.66 million yen higher than the base model.
