ASTON MARTIN DB9 VOLANTE | The Model Symbolizing the New Generation Aston
ASTON MARTIN DB9 VOLANTE
The Model Symbolizing the New Generation Aston
The "DB9" is the result of Aston Martin's fusion of cutting-edge technology and skilled craftsmanship. It is a model that symbolizes the new generation Aston, achieving not only to surpass legendary cars of the past with its beauty and performance, but also making a dramatic leap forward in safety and quality.
In addition to the coupe, Aston Martin offers the "Volante," an open-top model. Both feature a 2+2 seating layout, but their most distinctive feature is the body structure. The method, known as "VH Architecture," utilizes an adhesive aluminum spaceframe structure and aluminum body panels to achieve the lightweight yet highly rigid body required for a sports car. Furthermore, by positioning the engine deep within the nose and the gearbox directly ahead of the rear differential, the front-rear weight distribution has been optimized.
Naturally, all of this is for the sake of driving performance. The engine is a 6-liter V12, and in addition to a 6-speed manual, an automatic transmission called "Touchtronic" is also available.
While its performance is exhilarating, what further enhances the DB9's appeal is its beautiful cockpit. The starter button on the center cluster is covered by clear glass, and aluminum is generously used for the meters, door handles, and panels, creating a clear and premium atmosphere. This fusion of performance and beauty is precisely why Aston Martin is called "the coolest sports car."

BRAND HISTORY
Currently, the British marque ASTON MARTIN is garnering global attention as the "coolest" sports car brand. Founded in 1914 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, this small company adopted the Aston Martin name after achieving success in a hill climb event known as Aston Clinton, and has since left a brilliant mark on the history of motorsport and sports cars.
Conversely, the company has faced numerous financial crises, each time receiving a helping hand, charting a truly dramatic course. For instance, David Brown, who became owner in 1947, left his name on the sports car "DB2" and the racing machine "DBR1" by leveraging his excellent management skills and engineering acumen. More recently, Ford's sale of its stake to an investment group led by David Richards, founder of Prodrive, is still fresh in memory.
However, Aston Martin has consistently pursued the creation of sports cars imbued with potent power and beautiful styling throughout its history. The current lineup includes the "V8 Vantage" and "DB9." Furthermore, a new flagship model, the "DBS," which will succeed the "Vanquish," is expected to make its debut in Japan in the near future.
