The e-tron Spyder with a diesel engine at the rear is born

A hybrid 4WD model with 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.4 seconds
While the closed-body "e-tron" was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January, the model announced this time is its Spyder version. Unlike the e-tron in Detroit, which was an EV, the Spyder is characterized by its plug-in hybrid system powered by a diesel engine.
The plug-in hybrid's core is a mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo diesel "TDI" engine, producing a maximum output of 300ps and a peak torque of 66.3kgm on its own. The front axle houses two electric motors, delivering a combined maximum output of 88ps and a peak torque of 35.9kgm.
This means the e-tron Spyder is a 4WD vehicle where the front wheels are driven by the motors and the rear wheels by the engine, achieving high performance with 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h (electronically limited). For reference, the previous e-tron had a 0-100km/h acceleration of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 200km/h, indicating a significant performance improvement with the current spec changes. Furthermore, the inclusion of an EV mode in the Spyder is also a major feature. It can travel up to 50km in zero-emission mode at speeds up to 60km/h, boasting impressive environmental performance with a European combined fuel economy of 45.5km/l and CO2 emissions of 59g/km, including electric driving.
The body dimensions are 4,060mm in length, 1,810mm in width, and 1,110mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,430mm, making it 130mm longer and 30mm wider than the e-tron. By utilizing the ASF (Audi Space Frame) structure and employing carbon fiber for components like the engine hood and aerodynamic elements, the vehicle weight has been successfully kept down to approximately 1,450kg.
The combination of its light weight, short wheelbase, and 50:50 front-rear weight distribution results in a high level of handling dynamics. Audi describes the driving feel as being akin to that of a "racing kart."
