Pediatric Medical Project Launched to Support Children in Laos
French skincare brand ESTHEDERM, which holds annual Valentine's charity events, is implementing a pediatric medical project to support children in Laos in 2015. From Saturday, January 10th to Saturday, February 28th, 2015, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Esthederm's best-selling serum, "Universal Serum," will be donated to the "Laos Pediatric Medical Project" to support its activities.

Valentine's Charity Enters its Fifth Year
In 2014, Esthederm supported the "Self-Reliance Support Project for Young Mothers and Children Living on the Streets in the Democratic Republic of Congo." In 2013, it was the "Laos Pediatric Medical Project," and in 2012, a donation was made to "HOPE FOR LIBERIA - Médecins du Monde." Esthederm, born in France, collaborates with Médecins du Monde, an international NGO also headquartered in Paris, to provide support to children in urgent need.
Two years have passed since the project began in Laos, a country with a high mortality rate for children under five. In 2013, donations covered the cost of pediatric check-ups for 3,625 children. This project aims to provide free medical care for children under five, while also conducting health awareness activities in communities with the help of village volunteers. In areas where Médecins du Monde has intervened, outpatient visits have increased 2.8-fold.
Despite the increase in outpatient visits, the mortality rate for children under five in Laos remains high at 42 per 1,000 births. In its third year, the "Laos Pediatric Medical Project" seeks to encourage local adults to take action to protect children's lives, train staff with a certain level of knowledge and skills, and build a local healthcare system. The goal is to foster trust between healthcare providers and residents.
