October 1st is Fragrance Day. This year's representative fragrances receive top honors.
The 3rd Japan Fragrance Awards, Decided!
Launched in spring 2010 to commemorate the establishment of October 1st as "Fragrance Day," the Japan Fragrance Awards have once again announced their winners. Following preliminary document screening in July, public online voting, and a final judging session, awards across categories including luxury for women, men, and unisex have been decided.

Luxury Men's Award Goes to Marc Jacobs, Women's to Valentino!
Winners were determined across four categories: "Fragrance of the Year," awarded to the product with the highest scores for both scent and bottle design; "Best Bottle Design of the Year," for the product that garnered the most votes for its bottle design; "Bath & Body of the Year," for products recognized for their scent and texture; and "Room Fragrance of the Year," for products acclaimed for their scent and interior appeal.
In the luxury category, Marc Jacobs Bang Bang Eau de Toilette for men and Valentino Valentina Eau de Parfum for women received simultaneous honors for Fragrance of the Year and Best Bottle Design of the Year, becoming the defining fragrances of 2012.
Popular scents and brands from the online shop rumors, such as The Different Company's L'Esprit Cologne "Limon Cordozza" Eau de Toilette, which won Fragrance of the Year for the luxury unisex category, and Nicolai Bergmann "Rose Gardens Nicolai Bergmann Eau de Parfum (Modern Rose)," winner of Best Bottle Design of the Year for the luxury unisex category, also received awards.
