Embracing Ancient Moroccan Beauty Rituals
SULA NYC was founded in the United States in 2009 by its founder, Patricia Rainders. Sales began in Manhattan in 2011 for this organic skincare brand. The beauty rituals passed down through generations in Morocco have been revived as SULA NYC, mediated by contemporary New York lifestyles.
"SULA" means "rapids" in the Surinamese language, referring to water found in rainforests. Water is the source of life, constantly hydrating humanity, and SULA NYC interprets "SULA" as the key essence of its products: "argan oil."
The power oil, harvested from the fruits of the argan tree that grows only in certain regions of Morocco, works on skin exposed to the stresses of modern society. Containing three to four times more Vitamin E than olive oil, and with a yield of only about one liter from 100 kilograms of fruit, its rarity and color after filtration have earned it the name "liquid gold." Rich in beautifying ingredients such as essential fatty acids and carotene, it is currently drawing global attention as a beauty oil that offers anti-aging benefits. SULA NYC partners with a factory that uses a combination of hand-picking and mechanical pressing for the cleanest and most efficient harvesting, ensuring product quality with a focus on freshness and purity.
The lineup centers on facial and body oil serums, complemented by soaps and masks for comprehensive skincare. Products are available at department stores, the shop "QUOMIST" within shopping centers, nail salons, and Nail Quick, primarily in Tokyo. Additionally, purchases can be made through the online shop (http://monokuru.com/sulanyc), which opened today, February 14th (Friday). Furthermore, the brand will make its full debut in Asia with the opening of its first flagship shop in Toranomon Hills this June.
