Absolu Herbeen, Mikiko Hayano's salon, has garnered attention as a place where appointments are hard to come by, boasting a devoted clientele of the wealthy, athletes, and those in the entertainment industry. What kind of treatments captivate so many people?

A 240-Minute Full-Body Treatment Performed by Two Therapists

FujiwaraYour salon, Absolu Herbeen, draws on your experience in the UK. What kind of treatments do you offer?

HayanoWe primarily offer treatments incorporating the "NMB Method," which I developed. N stands for nerve, M for muscle, and B for brain, hence NMB.
This method aims to imprint the body's natural healthy state and correct facial structure into the brain.

FujiwaraI heard your salon is booked solid for the next six months. Which treatments are most popular?

HayanoOur most popular course is the "Signature Experience," which tailors care to each individual's concerns. This is where myself and another therapist spend 240 minutes meticulously caring for the client's face and body, addressing their specific goals and issues.

FujiwaraFour hours!

HayanoYet, most clients say the four hours fly by. We incorporate things like facial masks and provide thorough care from every angle.

FujiwaraMy body's alignment has been off since I was little, and as a makeup artist, the awkward postures I adopt have further distorted my body. You've worked with so many people; what physical issues do you notice most in modern women?

HayanoLately, with so many women working as hard as men, many find their bodies crying out for help, much like yours, Fujiwara-san. It's not just physical; many are mentally exhausted, and a significant number struggle with imbalanced diets and autonomic nervous systems.

FujiwaraThere was a time when I couldn't even turn my neck, which led me to start osteopathy and acupuncture, and stretching became a daily ritual. When my body feels better, my mind feels lighter too. It was the first time I truly experienced how the body and mind are connected.

HayanoWhen the skeletal structure is aligned, the autonomic nervous system tends to regulate more easily, which can adjust neural pathways and, consequently, change one's way of thinking. It also enhances self-restoration and self-healing capabilities.

Eating Lots of Fruit for Breakfast: Is It the Right Choice?

FujiwaraSo, it's important to correct things from the root, not just the surface. However, I'm concerned that many young women in Japan still believe that being thin is everything and resort to extreme diets.

HayanoSimply adopting trends popular in Europe without consideration can be problematic. Take the 'apple diet,' for instance. Japanese apples are often very juicy and high in fructose, whereas European varieties tend to be drier. Following the European apple diet in Japan could lead to excessive sugar intake.

FujiwaraI eat a lot of fruit for breakfast; will I gain weight?

HayanoI think it's fine in the morning. However, nutritionally, a breakfast of a small amount of fruit and a miso soup rich in vegetables is better. Miso is packed with enzymes that aid digestion and metabolism. Also, since Japanese people have traditionally eaten rice, I personally feel that when they eat rice, their bodies consume energy efficiently. I believe DNA plays a role.
