Fashion Trends of 2008 and the Great Revolution to Come
NakanoSo, finally, could you predict 2008 for us, Kagami-san? For example, what fashion trends do you think will be popular?
KagamiI mentioned Jupiter entering Capricorn, didn't I? From the image of tradition and formality expanding, I expect to see chic, socially conscious, black, and traditional, formal styles emerge.
NakanoThat's the same logic that led to the 'Year of Manners,' isn't it?
KagamiHowever, trends tend to anticipate Jupiter's sign. Therefore, I believe the image of Aquarius will strongly emerge from Spring/Summer 2008 onwards.
NakanoWhat kind of image is that of Aquarius?
KagamiFuturistic, or artificial.
NakanoAh, so like 'future' or 'techno'? Recently, there's been an increase in techno-like fibers incorporating metallic sheen, so it's highly plausible that will become a big hit. What comes after Aquarius?
KagamiPisces. Pisces has a cute, fancy, and mystical feel.
NakanoI see. What about celebrities? Who do you think will become popular?
KagamiSelfish and unrestrained talents will fade, and I believe highly disciplined, socially conscious, and stoic individuals will gain popularity. Oh, speaking of which, Shun Oguri and Yuming are Capricorns.
NakanoOguri-kun is truly at his peak right now and seems set to continue for a while.
KagamiAlso, people with Virgo-like qualities will emerge. Yes, Takeshi Okada, the soccer coach, is a Virgo. I mentioned that Saturn's entry would bring responsibility, and it truly did (laughs).
NakanoAmazing! Um, I'm a Gemini, what about me?
KagamiFor 2008, it's about focusing what has spread into one area and elevating it.
NakanoI've been thinking I really need to finish one book properly instead of dabbling in this and that, so those words really resonate with me. Thank you. You once wrote somewhere that for an astrology reading to 'hit the mark,' it must resonate with something within the heart, and it truly feels that way. What sign are you yourself, Kagami-san?
KagamiI'm Pisces. I suspect my interpersonal relationships might be challenging.
NakanoDo you analyze your own fortune?
KagamiI do look, don't I? (laughs). Oh, and within the next decade or so, there will be major societal changes.
NakanoWhat?! Based on what evidence?
KagamiIn January 2008, Pluto enters Capricorn. Pluto carries the image of fundamentally overturning the status quo and causing paradigm shifts.
NakanoAn image connected to Pluto, the king of the underworld, I presume?
KagamiThe last time Pluto entered Scorpio, the issue of AIDS emerged, fundamentally changing our views on sex. When Pluto entered Sagittarius, the landscape of education and religion shifted dramatically.
NakanoSo when Pluto enters a sign, what that sign symbolizes is fundamentally overturned?
KagamiThe last time Pluto entered Capricorn was about 250 years ago, for about 20 years starting around 1760. During that period, Watt invented the steam engine, initiating the Industrial Revolution, and the French Revolution occurred, fundamentally changing societal systems. Even before that, the Protestant Reformation took place. Therefore, I foresee events that will fundamentally overturn the system of nations occurring within the next decade or so.
NakanoA revolution on par with the Reformation, the Industrial Revolution, and the French Revolution will occur! Even the speed of change happening around us now is unprecedented, so if this momentum continues to accelerate, it will undoubtedly bring about a great transformation... I have a vague sense of that. I can't even imagine what it will be like specifically, but it makes me feel a sense of bracing myself for something significant to come. It seems interesting to describe historical events by connecting them to astrological perspectives.
KagamiThere are people who actually do that.
NakanoI'd love to read it! The more I hear you speak, the more I realize the depth of astrology. Today, learning about this new framework of thought has made me feel as though my perspective on the world has expanded by one more layer.
