A special collaboration watch, designed by gymnastics star Kohei Uchimura, Longines' Elegance Ambassador, will be released in a limited run of 400 pieces exclusively for Japan starting Friday, September 6, 2019, at Longines authorized retailers nationwide.

Kohei Uchimura, the first Japanese national to be appointed a Longines Elegance Ambassador, is globally respected for his precision and elegant performances in gymnastics. A men's watch designed by Uchimura himself is now available in a limited edition of 400 pieces for Japan.

This model is a precious item commemorating the 20th anniversary of the brand slogan "Elegance is an Attitude," advocated by Longines since 1999. Following the release of a women's watch as the first Japan-exclusive model in June 2019, this men's watch, the second in the series, is based on the "HydroConquest" dive watch, a personal favorite of Uchimura's. The standout feature of this special collaboration model, packed with Uchimura's meticulous attention to detail, is the accent color red used throughout, including the bezel, minute circle, and date window frame. Red, symbolizing courage and victory, is Uchimura's favorite color, complemented by blue, his second favorite, on the dial.

The case back is engraved with Uchimura's signature and serial number, and it boasts a high water resistance of 300 meters, befitting a dive watch. Furthermore, in response to Uchimura's request to "be able to change straps according to my mood," the watch comes with a stainless steel bracelet, a tricolor rubber strap, and a NATO-style strap. Longines' first interchangeable system allows for tool-free strap changes with a single push.

This limited edition watch will be available nationwide at Longines authorized retailers starting Friday, September 6, 2019. Longines Boutique Ginza, Shinjuku Watch Salon at Odakyu Department Store, and Daikanyama Matsuzakaya Tokyo will offer early sales starting Saturday, August 24.
