TUDOR introduces the "Black Bay GMT S&G," a new version of its iconic Black Bay GMT, featuring a warm color scheme and a nostalgic aesthetic. Powered by an integrated Manufacture Caliber with GMT functionality, this timepiece boasts exceptional reliability, robustness, and precision, asserting its presence as a truly practical watch.

TUDOR's 2022 new release, the "Black Bay GMT S&G," is a highly functional watch with a multi-time zone mechanism that displays local time while simultaneously allowing for the indication of two other time zones. This model, featuring a bidirectional rotatable bezel with a two-tone 24-hour scale representing day and night, pays tribute to historical watchmaking functions with delicate beauty.

The 41mm stainless steel and yellow gold case features a polished and satin finish, a bidirectional rotatable bezel in yellow gold, and an anodized aluminum disc in black and brown, characteristic of GMT models. The dial is adorned with the "Snowflake" hands, an icon of TUDOR's dive watches since their debut in 1969, with the longer hand indicating home time and the shorter hand showing local time.

The date, displayed in a window at 3 o'clock, is linked to the local time hour hand. Thus, by moving this hand backward past midnight during time adjustment, the date in the window instantly jumps to the previous day. This is a unique and sophisticated, yet practical, function for the wearer. Furthermore, by combining the bidirectional rotatable bezel with its 24-hour scale and the 24-hour hand, a third time zone can also be tracked. The anodized bezel disc uses gold markings to delineate the hours, with brown for the daytime and black for the nighttime sections.

This model is equipped with the integrated Manufacture Caliber "MT5652" with GMT function, developed by TUDOR. The adoption of a Manufacture movement, designed from its inception to incorporate new functions rather than relying on add-on modules, demonstrates TUDOR's advanced technical development process.

This movement, combining robustness, durability, reliability, and precision, features a variable inertia balance supported by a traversing bridge fixed at two points. It also incorporates a non-magnetic silicon balance spring and is chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). While the COSC certification specifies an average daily rate of -4 to +6 seconds for the movement alone, TUDOR achieves a more stringent standard of -2 to +4 seconds when the watch is fully assembled. Another notable feature is the approximately 70-hour power reserve, meaning you don't need to wind the watch again if you take it off on Friday evening and put it back on Monday morning.

This model is paired with a black fabric strap featuring a beige center line, crafted by seasoned artisans. Alternatively, a steel and yellow gold riveted bracelet, inspired by models from the 1950s and 60s, is also available. This bracelet integrates solid links and laser-engraved rivet-head details using modern manufacturing techniques, recreating the distinctive stepped link design and the rivets used to assemble them. Additionally, a brown leather strap with light-colored stitching and a folding clasp is offered as another option.

Like other Black Bay models, this timepiece inherits design elements from TUDOR's early dive watches of the 1950s, including the "Snowflake" hour hand seen in a 1969 catalog, and a crown without protective guards. The traditional aesthetic blends with modern mechanical watchmaking, embodying and reviving the nearly 70-year history of TUDOR dive watches. Its neo-vintage concept, combined with manufacturing technology, reliability, robustness, and precision, establishes its presence as a truly practical watch for today. Furthermore, thanks to TUDOR's extensive experience and accumulated expertise in creating exceptional quality, all watches purchased after January 1, 2020, are covered by a 5-year international warranty.
