Updated Specs Retain the Original Vintage Charm
The "Intra-Matic Chrono H," inspired by the 1968 "Chrono A" and "Chrono B," has been newly added to Hamilton's collection. This timepiece is a fusion of vintage aesthetics and cutting-edge watchmaking technology, powered by the latest manual-winding chronograph movement, the "H-51," which offers a 60-hour power reserve.
Manual-winding movements are indispensable to telling the story of Hamilton's watchmaking history. In 1968, Hamilton introduced its first manual-winding chronograph models: the "Chrono A," affectionately known as the "Panda Dial" for its black subdials on a white face, and the "Chrono B," called the "Reverse Panda Dial" for its white subdials on a black face. These timepieces embody Hamilton's rich watchmaking heritage.
More than just a time-telling device, the appeal of a manual-winding chronograph lies in the tactile experience of winding the mainspring, engaging the stopwatch, and interacting with the intricate mechanism at its heart. The "Intra-Matic Chrono H" is a new release brimming with this very pleasure of engaging with a mechanical marvel.
The "H-51" caliber, a newly developed manual-winding chronograph movement for this model, boasts a 60-hour power reserve and is housed within a slim stainless steel case. While the original model measured 36mm, the "Intra-Matic Chrono H" has been scaled up to a contemporary 40mm. The monochrome dial features Hamilton's vintage logo, and the stylish bar indices and hands are accented with beige Super-LumiNova®, evoking an old radium hue.
The box-shaped crystal, reminiscent of the era's classic aesthetic, is made from highly transparent and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, enhancing its functionality. Paired with either a refined black calfskin leather strap or a sporty stainless steel mesh bracelet, it achieves a modern style.
This timepiece faithfully reproduces the chronograph styles Hamilton created from the 1960s to the 1970s, while integrating modern watchmaking technology, continuing Hamilton's legacy of craftsmanship.
