HUBLOT has unveiled the "Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow," the second timepiece born from its collaboration with Takashi Murakami. This special watch expresses the iconic "flower" motif from Murakami's work using 487 colored gemstones, blending vibrancy with transparency.

Following the "Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black," which sold out immediately upon its release in January 2021 and quickly became a collector's item, HUBLOT and contemporary artist Takashi Murakami present their second collaboration: the "Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow."

This model also features the "flower," a symbol of Murakami's art, but shifts from "black" to "color" with a focus on transparency, resulting in a timepiece adorned with a spectrum of gemstones. For this new work of art, HUBLOT's watchmakers chose polished sapphire crystal for the case, creating a unique, transparent environment that showcases both the artist's creation and the intricate mechanics of the Nyon-based manufacture. This technical feat, developed by HUBLOT, retains the characteristic design of the "Classic Fusion" within its 45mm case.

The "flower" reveals a playful, smiling face at its three-dimensional center, which appears to float from the dial, surrounded by 12 colorful petals. This vibrant palette is achieved by setting 487 colored gemstones—including rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, tsavorites, yellow sapphires, and orange sapphires—to create a rainbow effect. The petals move smoothly, as if the "flower" has come to life, thanks to a specially developed ball-bearing system engineered by HUBLOT.

At the heart of this watch lies a movement derived from the HUB1214 caliber, developed by HUBLOT's watchmakers, with the stopwatch function removed. It offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

Regarding this timepiece, HUBLOT CEO Ricardo Guadalupe stated, "Our ongoing collaboration with Takashi Murakami opens up new realms of expression previously unknown in the watchmaking world. In this creation, artistic creativity and HUBLOT's expertise intertwine to produce a work of art that can be worn on the wrist!" HUBLOT's skilled artisans have expanded the possibilities of my inspiration, resulting in this new rainbow-colored timepiece."

This piece, which captivated contemporary art enthusiasts, was released as a limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide and sold out immediately.
