Expressing Patek Philippe's Heritage with a New Grand Feu Blue Enamel Dial

At Patek Philippe, the split-seconds chronograph ranks among the top three most difficult complications to produce, alongside the minute repeater and tourbillon. Since the movement N°124 824, manufactured in 1923, it has held a special place within the brand's watch collections.
The first "Split-Seconds Chronograph 5370 Model," released in 2015, featured a platinum case with a black enamel dial, powered by the in-house developed and manufactured CHR 29-535 PS caliber with a classic architecture. This grand complication, highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors, is now released with an extremely contemporary touch through the adoption of a new grand feu blue enamel dial. This artistic creation, whose colors will not degrade, is handcrafted from an 18K gold dial and finished with a lustrous polish.
This dial offers excellent legibility. Slim, leaf-shaped hands with luminous material and white gold applied Breguet numerals clearly indicate the hours and minutes, while the slim central chronograph seconds hand and split-seconds hand ensure good visibility for chronograph measurements. The instantaneous 30-minute counter in white gold and the white transferred scale create a striking contrast with the dial's blue.
The split-seconds chronograph in this model is of the type with two push-buttons. The push-button at 2 o'clock starts and stops the chronograph, the push-button at 4 o'clock resets it to zero, and the push-button integrated into the crown at 3 o'clock stops and restarts the split-seconds hand.
The refined, polished platinum case features a concave bezel and satin-finished recesses on the sides, paired with a vibrant night blue alligator leather strap fitted with a platinum fold-over buckle. Like all Patek Philippe platinum models, this one also features a small diamond set at 6 o'clock on the case flank. Succeeding the previous model with a black enamel dial, this new model embodies a new fusion of haute horlogerie and rare handcraftsmanship, a true grand complication watch.
