SEIKO Presage Prestige Line Sharp Edged Series: Traditional Japanese Colors and Patterns Reimagined for the Modern Era

From SEIKO Presage, a watch brand that conveys Japanese aesthetics, comes the new "Sharp Edged Series" collection. Its striking dials, featuring sharp silhouettes and traditional Japanese colors, were launched on September 11, 2020, sequentially in Japan and overseas.

A Sharp, Sculptural Beauty for a Dignified Presence

Four new models from the SEIKO Presage "Sharp Edged Series," born from refined sensibilities rooted in unique Japanese aesthetics, became available on September 11, 2020.

This new series elevates traditional Japanese designs and colors into timepieces. The sharp silhouette, composed of edgy, flat planes, creates a powerful radiance that stylishly adorns the wrist. The contrast between the precisely engineered and polished glossy mirror finish and the delicate hairline finish lends a sense of depth to the watch.
On the SARX075, SARX077, and SARX079 models, Seiko's proprietary DiaShield surface treatment protects the case and bracelet from scratches, preserving the watch's original beauty for longer.
The dials feature a three-dimensional representation created by the intersecting straight lines of Japan's traditional Asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern. This motif, long cherished as a symbol of growth and success, is rendered with subtle height differences on a 0.4mm-thick metal plate. This pattern reflects light in different directions, creating a deep and beautiful radiance on the dial.

The dial colors are four chic shades from traditional Japanese palettes, chosen to complement formal settings: Aitetu (iron blue with a hint of indigo), Shironeri (lustrous pure white silk), Tokiwa (evergreen), and Susutake (smoky bamboo brown).

The mechanical movement Caliber 6R35, housed within the refined case, offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve, ensuring it remains functional even if not worn over a weekend, ready for Monday.
