Timeless. And full of elegance.
The Classique 7337 is a model that inherits the design of a historical pocket watch created under the direction of Abraham-Louis Breguet and his son. Its distinctive feature is the off-center dial, introduced around 1812 on several pocket watches.
The design of the Classique 7337 is an homage to the quarter repeater watch "No. 3833," manufactured in 1823 and currently exhibited at the Breguet Museum in Paris. It is characterized by its off-center chapter ring at 6 o'clock and the moon phase indicator at 12 o'clock, giving it a unique aesthetic.
From the late 1930s, Breguet began incorporating classical design codes used in pocket watches, such as guilloché and fluting on the case band, into its wristwatches. This trend became a staple collection from the '50s to the '70s and was given the name "Classique."
In keeping with this tradition, this timepiece features different guilloché patterns on various parts of the dial. The chapter ring for the hours has a grain-of-rice pattern ("Clous de Paris"), the small seconds display has a checkerboard pattern ("Damier"), and the center features a "Clous de Paris" pattern, all enhancing the legibility of each indication.
The lacquered sky of the moon phase display is separated by engraved clouds, with sparkling dots evoking a galaxy. The design of the gold disc representing the moon has been updated to a three-dimensional lunar relief, combining shiny and matte finishes.
The hand-decorated, ultra-thin automatic Calibre 502.3 movement can be admired through the sapphire case back of this timepiece. The movement's slimness is achieved by an open barrel and an offset rotor, allowing the mainspring, normally hidden, to be clearly visible in this unique design. The silicon balance spring, reflecting the latest technological research, also continues Abraham-Louis Breguet's pursuit of high precision.
