Panerai has released the new "Luminor Marina Carbotech™ Blu Notte," in a limited edition of 500 pieces. This model marks the first pairing of Panerai's signature Carbotech™ case with a Blu Notte dial, evoking the delicate sunlight filtering into the deep sea.

The "Luminor Marina Carbotech™ Blu Notte" has arrived as Panerai's new release for 2021. This timepiece is the first to pair two distinctive elements of Panerai's design code: the Carbotech™ case and the Blu Notte dial. The material's unique character and the dial's subtle ambiance, named "night blue" in Italian, project an image of casual yet strong charisma.

Carbotech™ is a composite material that exhibits greater resistance to external factors, including corrosion. This special material is created by layering sheets of carbon fiber with alternating fiber orientations, then compressing them under controlled high pressure and temperature, and finally bonding them with the high-performance polymer PEEK. This process yields matte-finished Carbotech plates, each displaying a unique grain pattern when forming the case, ensuring no two are alike. This distinctive pattern imbues the case with a play of light and shadow, reminiscent of sunbeams penetrating the ocean's surface to reach the seabed.

The sandwich-structured dial features numerals, indices, and black steel hands that glow green in the dark, creating a striking contrast with the dial's blue. Inside the Carbotech™ case beats the P.9010 automatic movement. It offers hours, minutes, small seconds, date, a three-day power reserve, and a function that allows the hour hand to be moved independently of the minute hand. This feature enables quick time adjustments by moving the hour hand forward or backward in one-hour increments.

Manufactured at Panerai's manufacture in Neuchâtel, this caliber was conceived by Panerai's research and development division, Laboratorio di Idee (the workshop of ideas). It boasts a water resistance of 30 atmospheres (approximately 300 meters) and is paired with a matte-finished alligator strap in a color matching the dial, along with a DLC-coated titanium trapezoidal buckle. A rubber strap is also included as a spare.
