The new Santos design, refreshed at SIHH 2019, finally sees the release of its mechanical model (only quartz models were available last year).
The sharp, solid design evokes the vintage look of the early 20th century.
Though not often mentioned, compared to other brands, this is quite a "value for money" item.

From Cartier's iconic "Santos Dumont" collection comes the new "Santos Dumont" XL, featuring refined proportions along with a contemporary size increase. Available in three models, each crafted from 18K rose gold, 18K rose gold & stainless steel, or stainless steel, and paired with alligator leather straps.

From the "Santos Dumont" collection, known for its elegant case with a sense of tension, comes the new "Santos Dumont" XL, a magnificent expression of its iconic design in an XL size. The generously proportioned dial, finished with a sunray satin effect, is complemented by sword-shaped hands that impart a strict atmosphere, beautifully condensing both style and essence. While the refined case design remains, the collection's elegance is inherited through details such as the beaded crown and the case back engraved with Alberto Santos-Dumont's initial "S=D".

For this model, Cartier's watchmakers selected the Calibre 430 MC manual-winding movement, a superb mechanism with approximately 38 hours of power reserve. The watch is available in three models, each featuring 18K rose gold, 18K rose gold & stainless steel, or stainless steel cases, paired with grey, black, or navy blue alligator leather straps.
