Four Sporty Titanium Models Released from Seiko Astron
Four sporty titanium models, suitable for active pursuits, have been announced from the "Seiko Astron," the world's first GPS solar watch. Three of these models are scheduled for release on July 10, 2020 (Friday), while one model, a limited edition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of "Time Memorial Day," is set to be available starting June 6, 2020 (Saturday).

Seiko Astron's First All-Titanium Model
The stainless steel model released in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "Quartz Astron" featured a bold case silhouette with pronounced lugs and a slim bezel. It combined the design codes of the Quartz Astron with a modern interpretation, creating a dynamic, three-dimensional form and a case with a beautifully distortion-free mirror finish.
Following that form, the "Seiko Astron Global Line Sport" released in 2020 inherits the "Quartz Astron's" DNA while adopting a titanium case for stress-free use in active scenarios. It is offered in four models: a regular model, an all-black model, and a limited edition for the 100th anniversary of "Time Memorial Day."
All models feature an all-titanium case, a first for Seiko Astron, and boast 20-bar water resistance. Large push buttons and a crown shape, designed for easy operation even with gloves on, contribute to their reliability in demanding situations. The sporty design is further enhanced by the striking contrast between the hairline finish on the top of the broad lugs and the mirror finish applied throughout.
Lumibrite is applied to all hour markers on the dial to improve legibility in the dark. Combined with a simple dial design that clearly displays the time, the watch ensures visibility regardless of the environment.
The all-black model features a Super Black Dia-shield processed case and a new textured asphalt-patterned black dial, creating a unified, deep black aesthetic that exudes a unique and sporty atmosphere. The push buttons have a special grooved shape for improved grip.
The limited edition model, commemorating the 100th anniversary of "Time Memorial Day"—which falls on June 10th in the Gregorian calendar, the date the first Japanese timekeeping device was used—is produced in a limited quantity of 2,000 units. This model uniquely features green ceramic for the bezel, a first for "Seiko Astron," creating a special design that harmonizes with the green dial.
The enhanced, rugged exterior is expressed in earth tones, suggesting expanded usability. The sub-dial features Arabic numerals, enhancing legibility befitting a model celebrating "Time Memorial Day." The case back is engraved with "Limited Edition" and the serial number from 0001/2000 to 2000/2000.
