To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the British North Greenland Expedition, TUDOR has unveiled the "Ranger," a 39mm tool watch embodying the spirit of this daring adventure, equipped with the Manufacture Calibre MT5402 and a rapid-adjustment clasp.

A tool watch with a vintage aesthetic and modern specifications
On July 8, 1952, the North Greenland Expedition set sail from Deptford, a town on the banks of the River Thames in London, for Greenland, embarking on a two-year scientific mission to study the ice cap. On the wrists of the British scientists and naval personnel was the newly completed Oyster Prince, the first TUDOR to feature both an automatic winding mechanism and waterproofing. Inheriting the tradition of this expedition watch, the new "Ranger" has been born as a robust, practical, and accessible tool watch.
This piece adheres to the design principles established in TUDOR's watchmaking history, notably the dial with Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. Vintage watch enthusiasts will appreciate the beige hour markers with luminous material. They contrast with the grained matte black dial while echoing the tone of the TUDOR logo. The arrow-shaped hour hand is also a distinctive design element of the "Ranger."
This model is powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5402. This movement, combining robustness, durability, reliability, and precision, features a variable inertia balance supported by a traversing balance bridge secured at two points. Three types of bracelets or straps are available: a satin-finished stainless steel bracelet with a "T-fit" rapid-adjustment clasp allowing for 8mm of length adjustment in five positions with simple, tool-free operation; a hybrid strap in black leather and natural rubber with a folding clasp; and an olive green fabric strap with red and beige stripes.
