The "Coin Stack" Guilloché Engraving Creates New Era Elegance
The history of the Reverso dates back to 1931. At the time, British army officers playing polo in India requested a watch that could withstand the intense impacts of the game. The answer was the Reverso, with its reversible case.
This timepiece, which masterfully fused design and functionality, quickly transcended the world of sports to become a favorite among the fashion-conscious.
This model adopts the proportions of the original 1931 Reverso, with dimensions of 40.1 x 24.4 mm and a thickness of 7.56 mm, as announced in 2024. It's a design that fits comfortably on both men's and women's wrists, striking a perfect balance. It drapes elegantly on the wrist, exuding a subtle yet distinct presence.
The most noteworthy feature of this new release is the new guilloché engraving on the dial, named "Coin Stack." This delicate decoration, reminiscent of the edge of a coin, adorns the center of the main dial and the small seconds display, creating a beautiful contrast with the vertical brushed finish applied to the hour markers, minute track, and bold numerals.
Combined with the polished stainless steel case, it expresses a refined and contemporary elegance.
The movement is the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 822, boasting a power reserve of 42 hours. The iconic rotating case of the Reverso, composed of 50 parts, is made of stainless steel, and the blank space on the case back can be engraved or lacquered. This allows owners to express their unique style and engrave cherished memories, a charm unique to the Reverso.
The strap is a interchangeable black calfskin leather designed by Casa Fagliano, the renowned Argentine polo boot maker. It pays homage to the polo, the origin of the Reverso, while offering a sophisticated design that harmonizes with modern attire.
This model, which blends vintage charm with contemporary style, can be said to reaffirm the timeless appeal of the Reverso.
