A New Collection of Chic, Sophisticated, and Genderless Designs
TUDOR introduces the completely revamped 'Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G' from its iconic Black Bay collection. Featuring polished & satin-finished stainless steel and yellow gold cases, the watches come in four sizes: 31mm, 36mm, 39mm, and 41mm. Models with diamond-set bezels are available for the 31mm, 36mm, and 39mm sizes. All are equipped with a manufacture Calibre and a chic five-link bracelet, with availability scheduled to begin in July 2022.
Polished Yellow Gold Design That Captures the Eye
TUDOR releases the 'Black Bay 31/36/39/41 S&G,' adding aesthetic refinement to its established collection. The gently rounded case, set against the backdrop of TUDOR's signature tool watch heritage, ventures into a new realm of unisex chic and sophistication.
The polished case sides gently curve outwards, with a newly designed crown that fits snugly into the contour. Furthermore, the yellow gold, previously finished with a satin texture, now receives a polished treatment, bringing a fresh approach to the collection. In addition to the ample size options of 31, 36, 39, and 41mm, models with diamond-set bezels are also available for the 31, 36, and 39mm sizes.
This model is powered by the new Calibre MT5201, developed specifically for smaller case sizes. With the introduction of this calibre, TUDOR's automatic manufacture movement lineup now comprises three families: large (MT56), medium (MT54), and small (MT52). The manufacture Calibre MT5201 combines robustness, durability, reliability, and precision, featuring a variable inertia balance wheel supported by a traversing bridge secured at two points, and a non-magnetic silicon balance spring.
These manufacture calibres are COSC-certified chronometers, but their performance exceeds the official COSC standards, adhering to TUDOR's own stringent precision criteria. Another notable feature is the approximately 70-hour power reserve of the large and medium manufacture calibres, and the approximately 50-hour power reserve of the small manufacture calibre.
The bracelet is a new five-link stainless steel and yellow gold construction. It is also equipped with the 'T-fit' adjusting system, allowing for self-sizing adjustments. The wearer can easily adjust the length by 8mm in five stages without tools.
The dial of this model, like other Black Bay models, draws inspiration from TUDOR's 1950s divers' watches. Elements such as the 'snowflake' hour hand design seen in a 1969 catalogue, and the crown and case shape without protection, reminiscent of TUDOR's early divers' watches, can be found. This neo-vintage concept, combined with modern manufacturing techniques, reliability, robustness, and precision, establishes its presence as a truly functional timepiece today.
