Porsche Design has unveiled the all-black "1919 Globetimer UTC." This sporty watch features a GMT display and is crafted from the same materials used in Porsche car interiors, allowing for time adjustment with a simple push of a button.

In 2019, Porsche Design introduced the "1919 Globetimer UTC," a sporty watch with a GMT display offering intelligent functionality, optimized legibility, and simple, convenient operation. Initially available in three dial color variations, this chronometer model gains an all-black version in August 2021.

This model features a black titanium carbide coating, a black leather strap made from the same leather used in Porsche car interiors, and the optimal legibility expected from a Porsche Design watch.

It not only embodies the pure sensation of a sports car on the wrist but also ensures that wherever you travel, a simple press of a button allows the hour hand to jump to the local time. Derived from the simple, precise operation of Porsche's double-clutch transmission, the 24 time zone display allows for easy setting of local time using ergonomically shaped, optimally placed pushers, while keeping the current time intact. To adjust the second time zone, press the "+" button when traveling east and the "-" button when traveling west. A small window at the 9 o'clock position on the dial indicates day or night, appearing white during the day and black at night. While it's necessary to confirm AM or PM before setting, once set, this window moves in sync with the normal time display.

The dial diameter is designed to be as large as possible for intuitive readability from any angle, while the titanium case is proportioned for a substantial feel. This balanced styling gives the watch a unique presence.

This model is equipped with the Porsche Design Caliber Werk 04.110. This movement features a proprietary bidirectional winding rotor with ball bearings, a power reserve of approximately 38 hours, and a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4Hz). On the dial side of the movement, a time zone mechanism specially developed by Porsche Design and manufactured by the Swiss complication specialist Dubois Dépraz is integrated. Before commencing series production, this mechanism underwent extensive, long-term testing according to the strict standards of Chronofiable. It has withstood over 5,000 shock tests, each push-piece is rated for at least 10,000 switching cycles, and each movement has achieved COSC certification through 15 days of testing.

Externally, the 42mm titanium case with its black titanium carbide coating harmonizes perfectly with the high-quality black leather strap, crafted from the same leather used in Porsche car interiors. This combination not only ensures the "1919 Globetimer UTC All Black" is an indispensable travel companion but also makes its pure, monochrome design a powerful statement in itself.
