ZENITH has unveiled the "Defy Extreme Mirror," an unprecedented concept model that reinterprets the brand's signature 1/100th of a second chronograph using a mirroring camouflage technique.

With ZENITH's entirely new expression, the brand explores its most robust chronograph, merging reality with our perception of the surrounding environment. This monolithic watch, which reflects all light and color without possessing a hue of its own, features a geometric, exceptional form designed to blend seamlessly into its surroundings.

The "Defy Extreme Mirror" evokes a sense of mystery, perhaps like the imagined arrival of a UFO shrouded in enigma. This impression may stem from its mirrored metal exterior, which faithfully reflects the earth, sky, and horizon, capturing attention while simultaneously exuding a subtle, blending quality.

Without intending to conceal, the dazzling watch mirrors its surroundings with remarkable fidelity, possessing a beauty so profound it seems to dissolve into its environment. The angular case and integrated bracelet, crafted from stainless steel and finished with a flawless mirror polish, achieve a chrome-like sheen.

The mirror finish extends not only to the case but also to the sapphire crystal of the multi-layered, open-worked dial. This crystal, while translucent, features a metallic mirror finish that reflects its surroundings. The 1/100th of a second chronograph scale is treated with a satin-brushed finish, enhancing legibility while maintaining the smooth, metallic aesthetic of the overall design.

Visible through the open-worked dial and the sapphire crystal case back, the world's fastest high-frequency automatic chronograph caliber beats within. Its two escapements, enabling 1/100th of a second measurement, operate independently: one for timekeeping at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) and the other for the chronograph function at 50 Hz (360,000 vibrations per hour). The star-shaped winding rotor, a signature element, is finished in a silver-grey metallic tone that complements the case and dial.

Complementing the captivating timepiece are a durable black Velcro strap and a rubber strap. With the quick strap-change mechanism, these can be easily swapped with the steel bracelet, allowing for personalized style adjustments.
