The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, clad in rose gold.

ZENITH | The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar

From Swiss watchmaking maison ZENITH comes a new variation of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, pairing a rose gold case with a black dial. While inheriting the design codes of the iconic "A386" released in 1969, it elevates practicality and style to a sophisticated level through modern materials and meticulous finishing.

Contrast Unveils a New Facet of the Chronomaster

The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is characterized by its maison-defining high-frequency El Primero chronograph movement, incorporating a date, day, and month display, along with a moon phase complication.
This movement, developed with the triple calendar in mind, is the "heart" symbolizing ZENITH's advanced technology. In 1970, 25 prototypes were produced using the case design of the "A386".
In 2024, a stainless steel version of the same model was introduced. Its compact 38mm case size revives the details of the "A386," including the box-shaped sapphire crystal, pump-style pushers, and tapered lugs.
This model features a dial layout with excellent legibility and balanced design, seamlessly integrating the triple calendar and three chronograph sub-dials. The day and month are symmetrically placed at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, the date display is at 4:30, and the moon phase is incorporated into the counter at 6 o'clock.
The newly released rose gold model makes a striking impression with an elegant look distinct from its steel counterpart. The case, crown, pushers, and folding buckle are all crafted from 18K rose gold, creating a superb contrast with the deep black dial.
Practicality is also meticulously considered. Faceted hour markers and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1, ensuring high legibility even in low light. The strap is black calfskin, contributing to a refined aesthetic along with the rose gold buckle.
The "El Primero 3610" caliber is a high-beat movement capable of measuring time in 1/10th-second increments. Its high frequency of 5Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) allows the chronograph seconds hand to complete a full rotation of the dial in just 10 seconds. Remarkably, despite incorporating complex triple calendar and moon phase functions, it maintains a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.
The case back features sapphire crystal, revealing an openworked rotor adorned with a blue column wheel and the ZENITH star, allowing for visual appreciation of the mechanism's beauty.
This piece, cloaking innovative functions in rose gold elegance, offers a glimpse into new possibilities for the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, showcasing the strength of ZENITH as a watchmaking maison.
