A Limited Edition Model Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of "The Citizen," Evoking Traditional Craftsmanship and Japanese Beauty
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of its high-precision "The CITIZEN" watch, Citizen will release a limited-edition model featuring a gold leaf-infused Japanese paper dial on March 19, 2020 (Thursday).

The Soft Texture of Japanese Paper Meets the Splendor of Sunago-maki
Born in 1995 with the theme "To keep accurate time. To convey time legibly. To maintain this mission for a long time," The Citizen now celebrates its quarter-century anniversary. This commemorative model, featuring a Tosa Washi paper dial sprinkled with Kanazawa gold leaf and a Super Titanium™ case finished with Duratect Gold, will be released in a limited run of 500 pieces.
The Tosa Washi paper for the dial is "Tosa Tengujo-shi," renowned as the world's thinnest Japanese paper with a thousand-year history. It is further enhanced with the traditional Japanese "Sunago-maki" technique, where gold leaf is scattered like snow across the paper. The soft texture of the washi, combined with the vibrant scattering of gold leaf meticulously finished by artisans, imbues this model with a sense of specialness.
The case is crafted from elegant, gold-colored Super Titanium™, ensuring scratch resistance and enduring brilliance. The movement is a high-precision Eco-Drive with an annual accuracy of ±5 seconds. As a mark of this precision, the eagle emblem adorns the dial, crown, and the medallion on the case back.
