Recreating Iconic Aviation History with Modern Technology

The new "Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Silver" reinterprets the aesthetic of ZENITH's iconic "Pilot" collection, drawing inspiration from vintage aircraft design. This model, the second in ZENITH's "Pilot" collection to feature sterling silver 925 as its case material, is adorned with captivating and rich details inspired by the world of aviation.
In the early 20th century, the pioneers who challenged the skies wore ZENITH watches. Among their feats, Louis Blériot's 1909 cross-Channel flight remains etched in history as a remarkable achievement. This timepiece's exterior reflects these motifs from aviation's storied past.

The 45mm case is crafted from sterling silver 925, and the rivet detailing on the similarly silver-toned dial evokes the metal panels of an aircraft. The satin finish on the dial's surface intentionally presents an uneven texture, enhancing the inherent beauty of the metal.
In terms of functionality, the signature large Arabic hour markers and cathedral hands of the "Pilot" collection are treated with white luminescent paint, ensuring maximum legibility at all times. The brown calfskin leather strap is fitted with rivets reminiscent of aircraft exteriors and a silver pin buckle, accented with tabs that recall vintage pilot helmets.
