GIRARD-PERREGAUX Releases Two New Icons for the Bridges Family

GIRARD-PERREGAUX

The "Free Bridge & Free Bridge Infinity Edition" Evolves with Geometric Forms and Structures for a Modern Impression

To coincide with the Geneva Watch Days, Girard-Perregaux has unveiled two new models: the "Free Bridge" and the "Free Bridge Infinity Edition." These new models pay homage to Girard-Perregaux's legendary Three Bridges, first introduced in 1867, and embody a commitment to the future.

A Modern Contrast: The Arched Case Lines and Straight Bridge Forms

The new "Free Bridge" and "Free Bridge Infinity Edition," which revive Girard-Perregaux's renowned Three Bridges from the 1860s, offer a refined design suitable for the present and future. Both models are appealing for their excellent styling and craftsmanship, offered at a relatively accessible price point.
A key feature of these new models is the arrow-shaped Neo Bridge spanning the base of the main plate. While retaining the iconic arrow shape of the brand's bridges, it incorporates contemporary architectural structures, lending an evolved and refined aesthetic.
The movement is Girard-Perregaux's in-house Caliber GP01800. Its most significant feature is the use of silicon for the escapement and balance wheel components. Silicon is resistant to corrosion, lightweight, and less susceptible to temperature variations and magnetic fields, ensuring stable timekeeping performance. Furthermore, its low coefficient of friction reduces wear and energy consumption. Another advantage of using silicon is its ability to achieve intricate shapes previously impossible with traditional techniques.
Both models feature a newly designed, distinctive domed sapphire crystal box. The aperture between the 6 and 12 o'clock positions allows ample light to illuminate the movement's inner workings, revealing normally hidden structures such as the balance wheel, escapement, and barrel at the top of the dial. The movement is adorned with Côtes de Genève, chamfering, sandblasting, and snailed finishes. The "Free Bridge Infinity Edition" further boasts a 18K pink gold rotor. The eagle emblem engraved on the movement signifies its in-house origin.
The "Free Bridge" highlights its three-dimensional design with skeletonized dauphine hands pointing to suspended indexes, while the "Free Bridge Infinity Edition" adds a distinct personality with its gold tones. This cutting-edge design is poised to become a signature element of Girard-Perregaux's aesthetic for years to come. The "Free Bridge," now a centerpiece of the Bridges collection, and the "Free Bridge Infinity Edition," limited to 88 pieces, are scheduled for release at authorized Girard-Perregaux retailers worldwide starting this autumn.
