Enamel Dials by Master Artisans Meet Advanced Spring Drive Technology

From "Seiko Presage," which expresses Japanese aesthetics, two new models featuring Seiko's proprietary "Spring Drive" movement and the "enamel" dial, a hallmark of Presage, will be released in Japan and overseas on Friday, October 11, 2019.

First Spring Drive Movement in Presage

The new "Seiko Presage Prestige Line Enamel Dial Spring Drive Model" is the first Presage model to feature an enamel dial, also used in the "Laurel," Seiko's first domestic wristwatch, and Seiko's innovative "Spring Drive" movement. Spring Drive, Seiko's unique drive system, achieves high accuracy of ±1 second per day, a level unattainable by conventional mechanical movements, despite being powered by a mainspring. Its originality and practicality as a mechanism are undeniable, and the smooth sweep of the second hand naturally expresses the passage of time. Born from over 20 years of development from concept to completion, this mechanism, a fusion of exceptional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology, is the perfect movement to embody Seiko's delicate sensibility.

The enamel dials are available in two colors: a unique, fresh white and a warm, lustrous black. Combined with the "Didoni typeface," the design is simple yet beautiful, and easy to read, without being ostentatious.
