The "158 Pilot Chronograph," a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide, pays homage to a legendary bi-compax chronograph from the 1960s.
A pilot's watch with a classical appearance, the "158 Pilot Chronograph," has been released in a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide. It follows the design of the "155 Bw," a model now known as one of Sinn's hard-to-find collector's watches.

Packed with Details Evoking Sinn's Classical Pilot Chronographs
The "158 Pilot Chronograph," a pilot's watch with a classical appearance that follows the design of the "155 Bw"—a model now sought after as one of Sinn's hard-to-find collector's watches—has been released.
The base model is a bi-compax chronograph used by the German military in the 1960s. However, as only a very limited number were sold from the 1980s to the early 1990s, founder Helmut Sinn himself purchased the remaining stock, added the "Sinn" logo beneath the "Bundeswehr Chronograph for Pilots" label on the dial, and reconditioned them as the "155 Bw."
This "158 Pilot Chronograph," which inherits the design of the vintage "155Bw," is replete with elements reminiscent of Sinn's traditional pilot chronographs: a 43mm stainless steel case with a sand-blasted finish, a domed acrylic crystal, an easy-to-use black bezel made of anodized aluminum, and a large, comfortable winding crown. Notably, the case back is secured by four screws, mirroring the construction of the early models.
The movement is the latest automatic Caliber SW 510 from Swiss manufacturer Sellita. It features a central chronograph seconds hand and a bi-compax layout (seconds at 9 o'clock, stopwatch minutes at 3 o'clock), faithfully recreating the appearance of historical models. A date display is positioned at 6 o'clock. The vibrant red chronograph seconds and minute hands, along with the white luminous indices, hour, and minute hands, ensure comfortable legibility even in darkness. This classically styled "158 Pilot Chronograph" will be handled in a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide, with the serial number engraved on the case back.
