From Tsuchiya Kaban Manufacturing, a company that began as a randoseru (school backpack) workshop, comes a new color for their "Leather Watch Band," a band exclusively for the Apple Watch, crafted from domestic oil-tanned leather known for its antique texture and supple feel.
Simple Elegance Born from Japanese Sensibility and Craftsmanship
A genuine leather strap is the perfect accessory for a wristwatch, exuding an air of adult sophistication. While leather bands for the Apple Watch aren't new, domestic oil-tanned leather offers the unique pleasure of aging the material over time. Unlike leather straps that maintain a constant appearance, this develops a distinct character, fostering a deep sense of attachment.
Tsuchiya Kaban Manufacturing, a leather goods brand that originated from a randoseru workshop, has launched a new deep brown color for its "Leather Watch Band," an Apple Watch-exclusive band, at its directly managed stores and online store (

Tsuchiya Kaban's leather products, which emphasize meticulous craftsmanship rooted in Japanese sensibility and artisanal skill, possess a timeless simplicity and refined elegance. Consequently, Tsuchiya Kaban's leather watch bands, which add a touch of quality to the Apple Watch, have garnered praise for their expressive character. The initial brown color, released in March 2022, sold out immediately, attesting to their popularity.
The material used is domestic cowhide oil-tanned leather, richly infused with oil, characterized by its antique texture and supple feel. With use, the color and luster deepen, the leather softens, and it becomes more familiar. The comfortable fit gently conforms to the wrist.
The interior features soft calfskin for a comfortable feel against the skin, making it a luxurious construction with genuine leather on both the front and back. With the addition of the new deep brown color, the band is now available in two colors, alongside the existing brown.
Sizes are available for Apple Watch 42/44/45mm, with a new size for 38/40/41mm scheduled for release on December 15th. The length is adjustable in nine increments to suit both men and women. It is also easy to attach and detach; simply slide it in to remove.
This type of leather, which ages beautifully, was part of the Apple Watch's initial band lineup but has inexplicably been omitted from the current official selection. As the Apple Watch is positioned as a partner to its wearer, oil-tanned leather, which gains character with time, aligns perfectly with this concept.
