Garmin Japan, a pioneer in GPS device manufacturing from the United States, has released the new "Instinct 2X" series, an addition to the "Instinct 2" outdoor GPS watch line, starting May 12, 2023. This new series of solar-charging models, equipped with Garmin's latest technology, is available in a total of six variations.

The "Instinct" series is an outdoor GPS watch boasting ruggedness that meets MIL-STD-810 standards (thermal, shock, and water resistance) set by the U.S. Department of Defense. With enhanced smartwatch functionalities, it is suitable for a wide range of uses, from daily life to outdoor adventures.

The newly released "Instinct 2X" series maintains its signature toughness while featuring a larger, more legible 1.1-inch display, yet remains lightweight at 67g, making it the latest model ideal for the outdoors. The series is available in two versions: the "Instinct 2X Dual Power" and the "Instinct 2X Dual Power Tactical Edition" with military specifications.

All six models feature solar charging, offering unlimited battery life in smartwatch mode (※1) and up to approximately 145 hours in GPS mode (※2). The Power Manager function also allows users to extend battery life to its maximum by adjusting settings based on usage.

Garmin's world-class GPS performance has been further enhanced with GNSS multiband support. This ensures accurate and rapid positioning even in harsh environments with poor signal reception or areas with significant obstructions.

Furthermore, all models are equipped with a built-in flashlight, providing illumination in dark conditions or serving as an SOS signal in emergencies. The "Instinct 2X Dual Power" comes with white and red lights, while the "Instinct 2X Dual Power Tactical Edition" includes white and green lights, designed for use with night vision goggles.

The health monitoring features are comprehensive, including heart rate, stress levels, Garmin's proprietary Body Battery to visualize energy levels, blood oxygen tracking, and a sleep score that evaluates sleep quality on a scale of 0 to 100.

It also includes sports activity functions supporting over 30 types of sports, such as running, hiking, golf, and snowboarding.

The "Instinct 2X Dual Power Tactical Edition," equipped with military functions, newly features a ballistic calculator for aiming during long-range shooting. Additionally, it retains special features like "Night Vision" for compatibility with night vision goggles and "Kill Switch" to instantly erase data on the watch.

With convenient smart and safety features for everyday use, the "Instinct 2X" series is poised to be a reliable partner supporting your outdoor lifestyle.
