Bulgari Continues Support to Prevent Coronavirus Spread
Bulgari, the renowned high jeweler from Rome, Italy, has partnered with ICR, a long-standing collaborator in fragrance and cosmetics production, to create hand cleansing gel. Hundreds of thousands of bottles will be prioritized for distribution to all medical facilities through the Italian Civil Protection Department.
In March 2020, Bulgari donated a state-of-the-art 3D microscope to Spallanzani Hospital to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. Furthermore, Bulgari produced hand cleansing gel to aid in the prevention and eradication of the virus, extending support to the medical and scientific communities across Italy.
Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bulgari Group, stated, "As a brand that symbolizes Italy, Bulgari has a significant impact on the Italian economy, and we believe it is our responsibility to contribute to the nation's efforts in preventing, treating, and eradicating the coronavirus. Thanks to our expertise in fragrances, we were able to produce 'hand cleansing gel with disinfectant' with ICR. We consider it our duty to contribute our know-how and production facilities to the challenging situation we face, and we are grateful to the Italian Civil Protection Department for coordinating and supplying the gel."
The hand cleansing gel, packaged in 75ml recyclable containers, will be distributed first to frontline organizations battling the virus, with plans to produce hundreds of thousands of bottles over the next two months.
Bulgari belongs to the LVMH Group, a global leader in the luxury industry, which announced its support for French health authorities in March. Its perfume and cosmetics research centers are producing 50 tons of disinfectant gel weekly for donation to French hospitals. Additionally, the group ordered a large quantity of masks from Chinese suppliers, with the first 10 million masks delivered to France in April. LVMH is also considering delivering millions more masks to Italy and Spain.
