The Pelagos FXD Series Expands with a Chronograph, its First Ever

TUDOR has unveiled new timepieces to commemorate its partnership with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing yacht team. Two models have been announced: the "Pelagos FXD "Alinghi Red Bull Racing", a simple three-hand model, and the "Pelagos FXD Chrono "Alinghi Red Bull Racing", a chronograph model inspired by yacht racing.

Two Models Inspired by Competitive Yacht Racing, Featuring Dials in Hues Matching the Hull

Swiss luxury watch brand TUDOR began its partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing in 2022. Two models have emerged, inspired by the "Pelagos FXD" diver's watch, developed by TUDOR with the French Navy's special forces, and the "AC75" racing yacht.

In a first for TUDOR, the case and bezel insert utilize high-tech carbon composite, an exceptionally lightweight yet robust material. It is also a TUDOR first to house a chronograph caliber within a case featuring fixed strap bars. Titanium is used for the bezel, crown, and direct-action pushers, while 316L stainless steel is employed for the case back and inner case.

These two models, featuring the Pelagos FXD's signature fixed strap bars and 200m water resistance, are equipped with a bidirectional rotating bezel with 120 notches, using Swiss-made Super-LumiNova® Grade X1, a luminescent material that shows a 60% performance increase after two hours compared to standard grades. The bezel is marked with graduations from 60 to 0, aiding in the countdown crucial for yacht racing. The case back is engraved with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo.

The matte dial, in a color tone matching the AC75 hull, prioritizes legibility and is adorned in the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team's blue, accented by a red seconds hand or chronograph seconds hand. Furthermore, the chronograph model features red accents around the counters, reminiscent of the red stripes adorning the AC75 hull. The words "Alinghi Red Bull Racing" are inscribed between the 10 and 2 o'clock positions on the flange, which is angled at 45 degrees.

The strap is a new structure designed to fit any wrist, combining a "team blue" jacquard-woven ribbon with red accents (22mm width) with a self-grip fastening system and a titanium buckle.

The "Pelagos FXD "Alinghi Red Bull Racing" is powered by Manufacture Caliber MT5602, while the "Pelagos FXD Chrono "Alinghi Red Bull Racing" features Manufacture Caliber MT5813. Both boast a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
