Breguet unveils the "Marine Équation Marchante 5557." This model imbues the sporty design language of the Marine collection with the "Équation Marchante" complication.

The "Équation Marchante," which displays the local time of various cities worldwide with a single push, now has a Marine collection model. Introduced in 2011, the "Équation Marchante" was the result of three years of development. This rare complication model achieved a dual-time display—an instant jump timezone display—mechanically.

First, a push-button displays the initial city, and the crown sets the time and date. Then, when adjusting the second city, the watch's mechanism calculates the time and date through an ingenious system of cams and hammers. Notably, the date changes not just unidirectionally but can fluctuate forwards and backward across the date change.

Thus, with a simple press of a button, one can travel to any corner of the globe.

The design is also characteristically Breguet, with luxurious details. The dial base, finished with a sunburst effect and colored in deep ocean blue, features a wave pattern gently lapping at continental shores, meticulously executed with hand-guilloché engraving, creating an image of ceaseless repetition of the wave motif. The continental coastlines are delicately rimmed with a metallic turquoise border, and the longitude and latitude lines are drawn with metallization on a sapphire crystal plate. The sun/moon display at 4 o'clock is hand-hammered; the bright rose gold sun contrasts with the mysterious expression of the rhodium-plated moon, showcasing a lifelike finish.

Breguet excels in traditional, intricate hand-decoration, and this model clearly reflects the brand's characteristic intention to meticulously craft contemporary designs by hand.

The case is available in white gold and rose gold, housing the self-winding Caliber 77F1, equipped with an escapement made of silicon. The patented module includes a dual-timezone mechanism, a second timezone display, programmable and reprogrammable mechanical memory gears, and a day/night indicator.
