ISSEY MIYAKE VUE
ISSEY MIYAKE VUE
The popular annual designer collaboration,
this year with Yves Béhar.
The "ISSEY MIYAKE Watch Project," known for its annual collaborations with renowned designers, has once again unveiled its latest creations. ISSEY MIYAKE has previously released timepieces by cutting-edge designers such as Shigeo Mashiro, Harri Koskinen, Tokujin Yoshioka, and Naoto Fukasawa. This year, a new work has been introduced.
The new release is "VUE," a collaboration with emerging industrial designer Yves Béhar. Béhar, a Swiss-born designer, focuses on the fusion of technology and humanity. His work has received over 150 awards and is included in the permanent collections of institutions like the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
"VUE" is a watch that expresses the "mystique of time" using a cylindrical glass. Its transparent face, with a unique time display at the 3 o'clock position, appears as if time is being marked within a glass showcase. The design reflects the designer's new perspective, viewing the regular flow of time as a "landscape of time."
The watch is scheduled for release in Japan this summer. High expectations are once again placed on the new face of ISSEY MIYAKE's popular annual designer collaboration.
