Your New Running Watch
This February, the major citizen marathon "Tokyo Marathon 2010" will be held in Tokyo. With various events planned leading up to the race and a steady stream of new running products being released, participants' excitement is building. Amidst this, a new type of wristwatch, developed specifically for runners, is gaining attention in the watch world.
Introducing a New Model to Support Women's Running
One such model is the women's "<SEIKO PROSPEX> Super Runners," released by Seiko this month. Seiko is serving as the official timer for the "Tokyo Marathon 2010." While the men's "Super Runners" line has already seen new product development and popularity among runners, a model specifically developed for women has now been introduced. This new model features a newly developed movement equipped with a "Pitch Controller Function" for pace signaling and a "Distance Conversion Function" to indicate distance covered during runs, further supporting a more comfortable running experience. In addition to an easy-to-read display and colorful lap buttons that prevent accidental activation, the women's model is also smaller and lighter, ensuring no uncomfortable feeling on the wrist during runs. Following the earlier release of the men's model, this lineup for female runners comes in four vibrant colors, with the appealing color palette designed to brighten your activewear.

An Evolved Piece Featuring an Accelerometer
Meanwhile, Seiko Instrument's sports watch "SOMA" has also released a new model, the "RunOne 300PACE." For long-distance runs where maintaining a consistent pace is crucial, accurately tracking your distance and speed is essential. The new model, in addition to its traditional chronograph functions, now includes a newly equipped accelerometer capable of measuring steps, allowing runners to check their estimated speed, pace, and distance while running. By pre-setting your stride length and weight, the watch can display your individual speed, pace, and calories burned in real-time. The display features a large LCD angled at 30 degrees for optimal readability by runners, and the ability to view pace status graphically adds to the motivation for your run.
