New OCEANUS model equipped with a hybrid time acquisition system
Casio will release the new "CGW-G1000" model of its radio-controlled solar watch "OCEANUS" on October 25th. This model is the world's first metal watch to be equipped with a hybrid time acquisition system that receives both GPS and standard radio waves.

"OCEANUS" is a full-metal, radio-controlled solar watch with the concept of "Elegance, Technology." It was born in November 2004 as the world's first full-metal chronograph radio-controlled solar watch. Now, Casio's new "OCW-G1000" is presented as a new "world's first" watch, equipped with a hybrid time acquisition system that receives both GPS and standard radio waves (the first such system in a metal watch).
With a single push, it identifies your current location and displays the accurate time anywhere in the world, determining time zones and daylight saving time. It selectively uses GPS and standard radio waves according to the region, correcting the time to accuracy in as little as 7 seconds. It features "Dual Dial World time" for checking the time in two cities at a glance, and a highly efficient solar cell that maintains high reception sensitivity in a small area, achieving a textured face design.
