Bulgari has unveiled a limited-edition watch collection, "Tadao Ando x Bvlgari - Octo Finissimo," a collaboration with Japan's preeminent architect, Tadao Ando.

The "Tadao Ando x Bvlgari - Octo Finissimo" collection, a collaboration between Bulgari and Japan's leading architect Tadao Ando, is set for release in December 2019. This collection is a unique product that embodies the shared concepts of architecture, the passage of time, eternity, and purity, which resonate between Tadao Ando and the Octo Finissimo line.

On the dial, a spiral originates from the base of the second hand, designed by Tadao Ando, creating a vortex that expresses the passage of infinite time. The case is crafted from contemporary materials like titanium and carbon, with a graphical and refined aesthetic rooted in Ando's approach to architecture and Bulgari's own architectural sensibilities. Regarding the design, Tadao Ando commented, "The theme of a black hole in deep space came to mind. It's an image of a vortex spiraling from the periphery of the watch towards the center where seconds tick away, gradually disappearing into depth. It's also the ripple of water expanding with time. It is an expression of infinity and eternity, transcending time, from concentration to diffusion."

This collection comprises two models: the "Tadao Ando x Bvlgari – Octo Finissimo Automatic," limited to 200 pieces, and the exceptionally rare "Tadao Ando x Bvlgari – Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic," limited to just 8 pieces. The case back is inscribed with Tadao Ando's signature and the words "Tadao Ando - Limited Edition." The automatic model is scheduled for release from December 2019, with the tourbillon model following in January 2020.
