A Maison's Philosophy Embodied in Vivid Blue

TUDOR first introduced a chronograph in 1970. Its origin, the Oysterdate, combined robustness and functionality, earning high praise in the world of motorsport. Since then, TUDOR has maintained a close relationship with motorsport, incorporating numerous innovative technologies into its chronographs. Furthermore, its diver's watch series, which began in 1954, has continuously evolved, and the Black Bay Chrono is a model that fuses the traditions of both.
The Black Bay line is not a mere reissue of past models, but rather an embodiment of TUDOR's 70-year history of diver's watches, brought back to life for the modern era. This concept, termed neo-vintage, is enhanced by manufacturing technology, reliability, robustness, and precision, establishing its presence as a contemporary, practical timepiece.
The new Black Bay Chrono “Blue” is characterized by its “Tudor Blue” dial, which emphasizes the brand's identity. This sophisticated shade of blue creates a striking contrast with the highly legible sub-dials, further accentuating the appeal of the Black Bay Chrono's design. The dial features the “Snowflake” hands, a design element since 1969, and two silver sub-dials. This enhances legibility while embodying the Black Bay aesthetic.
The 41mm steel case is finished with both satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The chamfered lugs and the crown engraved with the Tudor rose are elements that highlight the model's presence. The design of the stainless steel pushers is inspired by early TUDOR chronographs. The fixed bezel, made of stainless steel with a blue anodized aluminum insert and tachymeter scale, achieves a balance of sporty appearance and functionality.
The watch is powered by TUDOR's in-house chronograph Calibre MT5813, featuring hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, and date functions, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Calibre MT5813 incorporates a sophisticated column wheel mechanism and vertical clutch for smooth and accurate chronograph operation. It is also notable for its high-precision regulating organ, developed through collaboration between TUDOR and Breitling, based on the Breitling 01 movement.
The bracelet is a five-link stainless steel model. Equipped with TUDOR's proprietary “T-fit” adjusting system clasp, wearers can easily adjust the length by 8mm across five positions without tools. The clasp also features ceramic ball bearings, providing a comfortable feel and smooth operation.
The concept of “Tudor Blue” does not represent a specific color, but rather an icon of TUDOR's history, technology, and aesthetics. The Black Bay Chrono “Blue” can be described as the latest model that embodies these elements.
