Wako stands at the heart of Ginza, the city of adults, and is a symbol of this area. As the sun set and the area in front of the building began to fill with people meeting up, a slightly stylish event for gentlemen and ladies was about to commence within the Wako Main Building.

Over two days, December 9th and 10th, an event titled "SEIKO presents WAKO GENTLEMEN'S CLUB" was held in Wako's characteristic calm atmosphere. Greeting guests at the entrance were suits made from Scabal fabric, which has graced Hollywood films. These were the suits worn by Marlon Brando in 'The Godfather,' Kevin Costner in 'The Untouchables,' Leonardo DiCaprio in 'Titanic,' and Robert De Niro in 'Casino.'

The venue featured a corner where guests could experience the "SCABAL personal for WAKO" pattern order service offered by Scabal, the purveyor of these high-end fabrics. Luxury items such as Borsalino hats and John Lobb shoes were subtly displayed. While the exhibits were truly splendid, they never appeared ostentatious, exuding a sense of gravitas, which is perhaps characteristic of Wako.

The ambiance was, of course, luxurious, but the event itself was very relaxed and enjoyable, featuring a talk show and portrait sessions by photographer Kazuya Gondo.

The talk show featured Yoshimasa Hoshiba, fashion director and personality of TOKYO FM's "SEIKO ASTRON presents World Cruise," and Kumiko Hoki, a cruise concierge. True to their style, they engaged in a lighthearted discussion about appropriate attire for gentlemen, centering on the "Seiko Astron."

Regarding Scabal in particular, the presence of the president of its Japanese subsidiary at the talk show provided a valuable opportunity to glimpse the world of high-end menswear, including explanations of ultra-luxury fabrics not usually seen and an introduction to Wako's exclusive pattern order service. The invited guests all appeared to be thoroughly satisfied.

It is rare to have the opportunity to experience fine spirits, music, and the finest items within a historic building like Wako. Precisely because it is a precious event that allows one to encounter true quality, we eagerly anticipate its next iteration.
