A Wristwatch with a Gentle Form and Universal Typography

SEIKO's RIKI WATANABE COLLECTION is a line of universal watches with the policy of "free and solid design. Simple and clear design." Since its launch in 2001, it has been supported by many people, regardless of gender.

This October, the new "Caslon" will be released. The "Caslon" clock, designed by Q DESIGNERS led by Riki Watanabe in the 1960s, is known as a piece of Japanese industrial design. A new watch, supervised by Riki Watanabe himself, has been born, taking inspiration from its form.

The index uses "Caslon," the typeface that also gave the clock its name. Caslon is a typeface created in the early 18th century by English typefounder William Caslon, and is known for its universally legible qualities. Subtle colors with low contrast are used, making it gentle on the eyes without causing stress. The case is made of plastic, chosen to express the "roundness" of the original outer case from that era. The case back and buckle also incorporate plastic, while the strap is made of pigskin, considered closest to human skin. Both the plastic and the plant-tanned pigskin with its smooth texture are gentle on delicate skin and designed to minimize allergies. The 38.5mm x 30.3mm case is also a welcome, mid-size perfect for unisex wear.

A total of five models will be available, with various combinations of dial, hands, and case back colors.
